Even though I just used a Framlingham Castle photo in early June, I had to use one this week since it’s the anniversary of Mary I asserting her claim to the throne and ending Jane Grey’s 9-day reign. I think there is some debate about the effectiveness of the castle’s defenses (at least by the mid-16th century), but this narrow, deep-set window shows that it seems to have some defensive strengths.
