the combs look like the same combs used to get rid of head lice in tropical countries, because of its very fine tooth. these are wooden combs i suppose. they look very similar to oriental combs still used today. with the addition of ornaments in its handle, like carved flowers or perhaps diamonds, they could pass for the spanish “payneta” which is actually a fancy comb used to hold the head veil of spanish ladies.
