Picture of the Week #36

Hever Castle. Photo May 1998.

7 Comments:

  1. Looks lovely! And how appropriate after the news of the Anne Boleyn Experience! I’d love to go there some time!

  2. Just beautiful! I just went to Hever for my birthday this past May. Those 2 tall trees which balance your photo are no longer there. It is a huge clearing now just beyond the second moat. I think I preferred the trees!

  3. – Marilyn – that’s what inspired me to choose a Hever photo. I was kind of surprised that I hadn’t already used on by now!

    – Kristian – Shame the trees aren’t there any more. I’ll be curious to see how much has changed whenever I *do* finally get back there (at least two or three years down the road!).

  4. Am I mistaken, or was this property up for sale at one point? Do we know who bought it?

  5. It looks like the last time it changed hands was in 1983 when Broadland Properties Limited (the current owners) bought it.

  6. Ooops, my bad! I got it confused with Rochford Hall–which did go up for sale last year! Sorry!

  7. I know it’s not the same as being there yourself… but here are two views of Hever from slightly farther up the hill… (if you’re curious)
