New Book – Mistresses of Henry VIII by Kelly Hart

I received an email from The History Press about this upcoming book, which sounds interesting. And it will save me the trouble of trying to assemble that “mistresses timeline” I mentioned in a thread on the Q&A blog! It is due out on April 6 in the UK and June 1 in the US (according to Amazon). Text from the information sheet is copied below.

  1. I would like to look at this book. I ‘ll probably get it. Theese were the women that king henry was unfaithful to his first two wives with. How you can say he was faithful to each an everyone of theese women dosen’t by me.Because he was known by many to have cheated on his wives with other women. But when he wasn’t with his misstress he was probably with his wife.An if he had been with neither he would have probably been in the arms of another.Or on his own or enjoying court life.In my opinion henry was a big cheat.A philanderer. As he had been with many.

  2. How fascinating! (and laughable–the man just couldn’t keep it in his pants, could he!)

😉 I’m going to order my copy now.

  3. I’m reading this at the moment, and I’m really enjoying it. I thought I knew it all about Henry”s court, but there’s lots of new information. He certainly had interesting taste in women, as his wives have had so much written on them too.
