Lara, I don’t why I didn’t do this before I sent you the link, but I finally went over to Alison Weir’s site and checked her schedule. She’s got quite a few US tour dates. Her schedule.
Shoot, I wish her Texas dates were better. Houston is closest to me (not that Dallas is that much farther) but I’ll be booting up a telescope right about the time her talk starts!

Yep, it’s an optical telescope. I’m not sure rain would get me out of work that night though since I have a group of school kids coming that night so I might have to be there no matter what. 🙁
In that case, I think you should take the 5th off work and head to Dallas. There’s even a champagne reception with that event! That sounds like an enormous amount of fun and since it’s a reception, you’d probably get a chance to talk to her.
Boy do I wish I could! Unfortunately that is also the week of our annual board meeting and I would probably be shot if I tried to take a day off that week. In other words, that was basically the worst week for her to be in Texas. Mid-March would have been perfect since I’m planning to take the week of Spring Break off! But I’m sure I’ll get a chance to see her talk one of these days.
