I read this book over a year ago and remember having the overall impression that it was pretty well done. But as its been awhile and alot has happened since then, Id love the excuse to re-read it. If anyones interested, Id be happy to do one of those reading blogs once others have gotten ahold of the book.

I’ll add it to my list for future book discussions! I’ve had the UK version for a while, but like so many other books, I haven’t had a chance to read it yet.
Kate- I would love to have you do a recap of this book. I loved it too but I really can’t remember much of it now.
In 2006, Jeannette Lucraft wrote “Katherine Swynford, The History of a Medieval Mistress”. I read this book and was a bit disappointed in that there really wasn’t a lot of personal information about Katherine. It was more along the lines of what life was like for a medieval woman who was also a member of the upper classes.
It will be interesting to see if Alison Weir has found further personal tidbits about this Tudor ancestor, or if she has also had to revert to the those two dreaded words…”most likely”.
