The “Compendium” now available as a book

I mentioned A Compendium of Common Knowledge (as part of Renaissance, The Elizabethan World) as my website of the month back on the October 2006 podcast and now I’m pleased to hear that Maggie has turned it into a book! Click the cover above or here for ordering information.

  1. Yey! Just ordered a copy. Can’t wait to get it. I was looking for a book like this last week.

  2. Thanks for the info Lara! I am looking for more in depth information about fashion (especially women’s fashion during both the early and later Tudor periods) could you recommend anything for that?

  3. Howdy Liz,

The best fashion book I can think of off the top of my head is Janet Arnold’s “Queen Elizabeth’s Wardrobe Unlocked”. Also, there are “The Tudor Tailor” and “Dress at the Court of Henry VIII”. I don’t have either of those, but I’ve heard good things about them.
