The odds are good that I won’t have much in the way of satellite internet access starting sometime this evening and lasting until sometime Saturday evening given the rain we’re expecting from Hurricane Ike. It might just end up being windy with only some light rain in my area, but we’ll just have to see. So, there probably won’t be any new posts or comments approved until Saturday evening or sometime on Sunday.

We were in Florida for Charley and without power for 10 days. Never did I feel such a disconnection from the world without having internet access!!

So far, so good around here. We’ve had some steady strong winds, but the rain has held off in my neck of the woods. The main reason we were a little worried as far inland as I am was that the storm was really big but with that last little turn north it has spared us here in eastern Central Texas.
Good to hear that you’re almost out of the clear. I was convinced this hurricane would be the big one because the name “ike” reminds of Tina Turner’s abusive husband.
