More on “The Tudors” series coming to Showtime

If you can, check out the Showtime webpage for the upcoming “The Tudors” series. These are two of my favorite photos from the batches I’ve seen so far. They also have downloads for desktop wallpaper and chat icons, more photos and videos. I’m not expecting 100% historical accuracy from the series (and I’m one of those who isn’t quite as picky about it, within reason) and am looking forward to it. I think it’s going to be a fun, sexy romp with some of our favorite kings and queens.

This is one of the new previews, set to “Lacrymosa” by Evanescence (I’m a big fan … love their lead singer’s voice)

  1. I just hope it’s not “super gory” like “Rome.”

The Tudor era wasn’t exactly “clean and pretty.”–if you know what I mean!

  2. Did you know that Cate Blanchett has just finished filming the sequel to Elizabeth! Its working title is ‘ The Golden Age’ About the next half of her reign and her relationship with Sir Walter.

  3. I think I”m going to have to get Showtime just to watch this! It looks like a lot of fun.

  4. The BBC did a great series on the 6 wives of Henry VIII. Keith Mitchell I believe was Henry VIII. You should check that out also – it came out orginally in the 70’s.

  5. Does anyone know how many episodes are planned? Is it to run all season, or just 4-6 episodes?

  6. I think I read that 10 episodes were filmed for the first run. But I posted something about early news that they were already planning a second season.

  7. My name is Specialist Tanya N. Elhaloui, a medic with the United States Army. I am currently deployed to Iraq and I am so darn disaapointed that I do not get to see this series. Internet watching is out of the question with our dinosaur connection speeds and such. And a lot of sites are filtered anyway. I really want this series. I have been a tudor fan for as long as I was able to read at the 5th grade level. Are they going to have season DVD’s out that you can purchase at Amazon? Or can any one record it for me? LOL. I’m using quota time just to post this little message and I don’t know if I can come back soon (others use the quota time too). If anyone can be of assistance, please write to my e-mail at nikki.elhaloui@us.army.mil By the way I have been a big fan of the TudorHistory.org website for a while now. Great information. It’s in my favorites list. Gotta go. Back to work again.
