More Tudor inspiration on the catwalk

Actually more Elizabethan this time, I guess.

From ElleUK:

From the opening outfit, which paid homage to Elizabethan dress, featuring a latex ruff collar atop a dress with latex ruffled underskirts

  1. Finally…an outfit that can be worn to the grocery store! Just think of all the canned goods that could be stuck underneath the ruff and inside the shoulders 🙂

It’s about time a designer thought about regular people.

  2. Personally, I’m waiting for the gable hood to make a comeback. And the codpiece for the gents. 🙂

  3. I’ve never understood the British fascination with fetish wear … latex, PVC, rubber, lycra, etc.

  4. Is there any picture available of the rest of this outfit?

  5. There is a link at the bottom of the original article (that I linked to above) that goes to this gallery:

  6. Thanks, Lara. Silly me…didn’t go far enough into the blog 🙁

Wonder if this designer has been contacted by any of the cruise lines?

  7. So Elizabethan dress for women is making a come back! What about for men?

  8. Did you see Alex McQueen’s collection earlier this year? All a riff on royal wear over white tulle skirts. Gorgeous red velvet trimmed in silverwork in a variety of Tudor and Napoleonic motifs. They were amazing – but clearly not within my budget – nor would I ever have a social event worthy of any of the pieces.
