Variety and several other sites are reporting that film legend Peter O’Toole will be joining the cast of “The Tudors” as Pope Paul III in the second season. As the Variety article notes, O’Toole has played a King Henry with Church troubles himself… in his case Henry II in “Becket” and “The Lion in Winter” (one of my favorite movies!).

does anyone know if they’re going to add a thomas cranmer character? or just conflate his role into Cromwell, which they seemed to do at the end of season 1.
cranmer is definitely in season 2. I live in Ireland and have spent the summer working as an extra. We recently filmed a scene with Anne Boleyn giving alms to the poor and Cranmer is there in his role as archbishop
