Open Thread – Questions for author Sandra Worth

Okay folks, here’s your chance to ask Sandra Worth some questions! I’ll collect questions in the comments through the end of the day Wednesday, December 3rd, and then Sandra will reply in a guest post on the blog (instead of in the comments). If you’ve already thrown out a question in the previous posts about her new book, please submit them again here too so I can collect them all in one place.

7 Comments:

  1. What is your background? — more specifically, how did you get interested in this area of English history?

  2. What was your main source materials?
Did you use new source material?
Do you feel there is more material out there about Elizabeth of York, that has been overlooked? Yet to be found?

  3. During the period of time when you are writing, do you ever get discouraged? What advice would you give to a person who is trying to write but sometimes has a really bad case of writer’s block?

  4. What is your style? Embarrassingly, I have never read any of your novels, so I’m not familiar with how you write.

Do you use a lot of description? Is there minute detail, for instance of fabric, or just enough to get the gist of what the apparel looks like?

Your cast of characters…do they focus more on people who actually lived the events or the people were around them who’s lives could be fictionalized? Yep…I know that Elizabeth of York was a real person 🙂

Are you affiliated with The Richard III Society? And if so (and even if the answer is no!), in your opinion, who helped the Little Princes’ to their disappearance?

  5. Fun! looking forward to hearing from Sandra. I have your book on my christmas wishlist. It was recommend to me by several people.

I know everyone always asks this but – how long does it take for you to complete a novel? What is your best marketing advice for promoting a new book? And lastly, did you have any say in the cover design? What is Eleanora di Toledo doing on the cover? And why is she missing her head. ouch 😉

  6. What was your main source materials?
Did you use new source material?

What was Anne Boleyn’s impact to the world today?
what new ‘ideas’ did she give henry viii?
Was she the one who sorta-kinda caused the religious turmoil in england? which later lead to religious toleration problems in the world and especially europe?

to sum it up, why was anne boleyn important?

  7. Lydia – Sandra’s book is on Elizabeth of York, not Anne Boleyn, so some of those questions wouldn’t really apply. But I’ll definitely pass on the question about sources, since several others are interested in that too.
