That really only means that there are books coming out in June that I&#8217;ve missed since I know a month can&#8217;t go by without *something* related to Tudor history being published. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p><b>Events<\/b><\/p>\n<p>* The next <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sudeleycastle.co.uk\/visit-us\/events?Submit=view&#038;id=130&#038;page=events\" target=\"new\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sudeley Castle Tudor Fun Day<\/a> will be on June 23. Check their website for more information.<\/p>\n<p>* The play <i>Fallen in Love: The Secret Heart of Anne Boleyn<\/i>, will be performed at the Tower of London and Gippeswyk Hall, Ipswich for several more performances in June. <a href=\"http:\/\/falleninlove2013.blogspot.co.uk\/\" target=\"new\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">More information and links for tickets are available at their website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><b>New exhibitions<\/b><\/p>\n<p>* <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cityoflondon.gov.uk\/things-to-do\/visiting-the-city\/archives-and-city-history\/london-metropolitan-archives\/news-and-events\/Pages\/shakespeare-exhibition.aspx\" target=\"new\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Shakespeare and London<\/a>, an exhibition by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cityoflondon.gov.uk\/things-to-do\/visiting-the-city\/archives-and-city-history\/london-metropolitan-archives\/Pages\/default.aspx\" target=\"new\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">London Metropolitan Archives<\/a>, opened this past week and will run through September 26, 2013. One of the highlights of the exhibition is a 1613 deed signed by Shakespeare and is one of only six known examples of his signature. If you want to be sure to see that item, please check the website since it is only on display for some of the dates the exhibition runs.<\/p>\n<p>* The National Museum of Scotland will be opening <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nms.ac.uk\/our_museums\/national_museum\/upcoming_exhibitions\/mary_queen_of_scots.aspx\" target=\"new\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">an exhibition on Mary Queen of Scots<\/a> on June 28 that will run through November 17. (I&#8217;m amused that it opens on Henry VIII&#8217;s birthday and closes on Elizabeth I&#8217;s accession day.)<\/p>\n<p><b>Continuing exhibitions<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vam.ac.uk\/content\/exhibitions\/treasures-of-the-royal-courts\/\" target=\"new\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/tudorhistory.org\/blogpics\/treasures.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vam.ac.uk\/\" target=\"new\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Victoria &#038; Albert Museum<\/a>&#8216;s exhibition <i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vam.ac.uk\/content\/exhibitions\/treasures-of-the-royal-courts\/\" target=\"new\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Treasures of the Royal Courts: Tudors, Stuarts, and the Russian Tsars<\/a><\/i> is still on and runs through July 14, 2013. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/tudorhistory.org\/blogpics\/finestyle.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>The exhibition <i>In Fine Style: The Art of Tudor and Stuart Fashion<\/i> opened in May and runs through October 6. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.royalcollection.org.uk\/exhibitions\/in-fine-style-the-art-of-tudor-and-stuart-fashion-QGBP\" target=\"new\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">More information is available at the Royal Collection website<\/a>, which also includes an online gallery of exhibition highlights and a TEDx talk by the exhibition curator.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Amazingly, I don&#8217;t have any books on the spreadsheet for this month.
