The big news in the Tudor\/Elizabethan art realm this past week was the announcement that the National Portrait Gallery<\/a> has purchased a portrait of Elizabeth I from a house sale and that it would be included in the gallery’s forthcoming exhibition Elizabeth I & Her People<\/a><\/i> (opening in October).<\/p>\n
