Some are available by subscription only, but others are free to read, including:<\/p>\n<p>* <a href=\"http:\/\/www.historytoday.com\/peter-r-roberts\/welshness-tudors\" target=\"new\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Welshness of the Tudors<\/a> &#8211; <i>Without their Welsh connections, the Tudors could never have made good their rags-to-riches ascent to the English throne, argues Peter R. Roberts.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>* <a href=\"http:\/\/www.historytoday.com\/d-huw-owen\/welsh-and-english-princes-wales\" target=\"new\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Welsh and English Princes of Wales<\/a> &#8211; <i>In this article, the complex relationship between England and the Principality is reflected, as D. Huw Owen traces the claimants of this title from 1245 to 1490, when Henry VII&#8217;s son, Arthur, was proclaimed Prince of Wales.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>And here are some other interesting things that popped up last week:<\/p>\n<p>* <a href=\"http:\/\/www.messengernewspapers.co.uk\/news\/9560735.The_King_and_I\/?ref=fbrec\" target=\"new\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The National Trust discovers letters from Henry VIII and Jane Seymour<\/a><\/p>\n<p>* <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-2108110\/Letter-informing-Henry-VIII-longed-sons-birth-469-years-stately-home.html?ito=feeds-newsxml\" target=\"new\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">&#8216;We be delivered a prince&#8217;: Letter informing Henry VIII of his longed-for son&#8217;s birth is found after 469 years in stately home<\/a> &#8211; (same item as above, but I had to link to this so I could rant about the statement that it was &#8220;written in Old English&#8221; &#8211; NO IT WASN&#8217;T!!! It&#8217;s Early Modern English. Sorry &#8211; this is a big pet peeve of mine that I got from my professor for the History of the English Language class I took in college.)<\/p>\n<p>* <a href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/books\/2012\/mar\/02\/tudors-henry-vii-wars-roses?newsfeed=true\" target=\"new\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">How Henry VII branded the Tudors<\/a> &#8211; <i>What has gone down in history as &#8216;the wars of the roses&#8217; was really nothing of the kind.
