{"id":5140,"date":"2011-05-16T13:01:50","date_gmt":"2011-05-16T13:01:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tudorhistory.org\/blog\/?p=5140"},"modified":"2011-05-16T13:01:50","modified_gmt":"2011-05-16T13:01:50","slug":"piece-of-the-mary-rose-onboard-space-shuttle-endeavour","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tudorhistory.org\/blog\/2011\/05\/16\/piece-of-the-mary-rose-onboard-space-shuttle-endeavour\/","title":{"rendered":"Piece of The Mary Rose onboard Space Shuttle Endeavour"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I kept putting off posting this story until the shuttle actually launched and after several delays it finally has!<\/p>\n<p>I first heard about the possibility of a piece of <i>The Mary Rose<\/i> flying on the space shuttle when the <a href=\"http:\/\/tudorhistory.org\/blog\/2010\/06\/28\/mary-rose-artifact-may-to-travel-in-to-space\/\">crew of a different shuttle flight visited the Historic Portsmouth Dockyard last summer<\/a>. They took the artifact with the hope that it would be flown on a future flight, which is indeed what happened.
