{"id":3796,"date":"2010-08-01T15:14:38","date_gmt":"2010-08-01T21:14:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tudorhistory.org\/blog\/2010\/08\/01\/"},"modified":"2010-08-01T15:14:38","modified_gmt":"2010-08-01T21:14:38","slug":"sunday-short-takes-9","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tudorhistory.org\/blog\/2010\/08\/01\/sunday-short-takes-9\/","title":{"rendered":"Sunday Short Takes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here are several things that stacked up during my very busy week!<\/p>\n<p>* <a href=\"http:\/\/www.worldbulletin.net\/news_detail.php?id=61878\" target=\"new\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Turkey presents Ottoman Sultan&#8217;s letter to Elizabeth I to UK<\/a><\/p>\n<p>* <a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/local\/northwestwales\/hi\/people_and_places\/history\/newsid_8867000\/8867955.stm\" target=\"new\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cash boost to restore Tudor dynasty church on Anglesey<\/a> (This is the church that I&#8217;ve blogged about before <a href=\"http:\/\/tudorhistory.org\/blog\/2007\/06\/23\/north-wales-church-with-tudor-ancestral-connections-vandalized\/\">here<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/tudorhistory.org\/blog\/2010\/05\/05\/picture-of-the-week-70\/\">here<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>* <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/uk-scotland-tayside-central-10788817\" target=\"new\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Restoration work at Stirling castle on Youtube<\/a> &#8211; and here&#8217;s a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/historicscotlandtv\" target=\"new\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">link to the YouTube channel for Historic Scotland<\/a>. The project is restoring parts of the castle to their appearance in the 1540s.<\/p>\n<p>* A new website from the UK National Archives: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.legislation.gov.uk\/\" target=\"new\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">legislation.gov.uk<\/a> launched last week.<\/p>\n<p>* <a href=\"http:\/\/www.westendlondon.com\/maze\/\" target=\"new\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Giant maze to open in Trafalgar Square<\/a> &#8211; the hedge maze will be in the Square from August 2 to 6.<\/p>\n<p>* And finally &#8211; the fourth and final season of The Tudors will be out on DVD in October in the US (I haven&#8217;t heard a UK release date yet, but I&#8217;ll update when I find out).
