Photo May 2015.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>This is the west tower of the church &#8211; I&#8217;ll eventually post a photo that also shows the eastern tower, which may have been used as a beacon. The church is up on a hill and it easily visible from the beach, so it&#8217;s likely this tower and\/or the eastern tower were used a navigation points when the town was a very active seaport from medieval times up to the 20th century.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>St. Nicholas Church, Blakeney, Norfolk, England.
