Photo May 2015.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Even though I just used a Framlingham Castle photo in early June, I had to use one this week since it&#8217;s the anniversary of Mary I asserting her claim to the throne and ending Jane Grey&#8217;s 9-day reign. I think there is some debate about the effectiveness of the castle&#8217;s defenses (at least by the mid-16th century), but this narrow, deep-set window shows that it seems to have some defensive strengths.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Window at Framlingham Castle.
