In the 15 years since my last visit, this space opened in 2009 for the 500th anniversary of Henry VIII&#8217;s accession to the throne. The design is based on the view seen through the arches in <i>The Family of Henry VIII<\/i> painting (even though the painting actually depicts the Great Garden at Whitehall Palace &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.royalcollection.org.uk\/collection\/405796\/the-family-of-henry-viii\" target=\"new\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">more info from the Royal Collection website<\/a>).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lion rampant heraldic beast in the Chapel Court Garden at Hampton Court Palace.
