Beautiful–I love the little village in the background, what fun it would be to live there!

I really liked Pembroke (the castle and the town) – I have some more photos from the castle and from outside that show more parts of the town. One of my favorites is a view of the colorful buildings along the road outside the gift shop. I’m sure it will show up here eventually!

That’s lovely. I’m going to have to visit it.

How did you take the picture from that high a viewpoint? Is there a hill or wall there?

I probably took that from the Great Tower, since it’s the highest part of the castle and I think the angle is right. I love to try to find the highest (and open) part of castles and get overview type photos. Although no matter how fit I am, I seem to always have sore legs from climbing all those winding stairs!

Well, duh! For some reason or other — probably just gross inattention on my part — I had assumed that was the outer gatehouse view. I should have known better as there isn’t a keep behind it, just the village.

I like to get pictures from high places too. Warwick Castle is exceptionally good for that!
