I swear I didn’t plan it so that this photo of Elizabeth would come one day after the 451st anniversary of her becoming queen. Happily, It just worked out that way!

    Wow what perfect timing–what luck! She looks very….regal. I love the detailing on the dress, collar and sleeves!

    it’s the ermine (?) climbing up her sleeve that’s so hysterical. Love the pearls and facial expression. She looks an awful lot like the portrait of Lettice Dudley countess of Essex and Leicester…..hmmm

    It’s hard to see in the photo, but the ermine has a little crown around his neck, like in The Ermine Portrait. For some reason I find that adorable…
