Trailer for "The Other Boleyn Girl"

And the poster:

A very attractive trio! I have to admit that I still haven’t read the book, but I do hope to see the movie. I’m really curious to see Natalie Portman’s performance as Anne. There are a couple of shots in the trailer that are quite interesting… especially Anne in coronation robes and regalia in a pose quite similar to her daughter’s 26 years later.

Should be an interesting comparison with The Tudors….hopefully with less overacting!

The poster looks like the cover of a Gossip Girl book. It looks alright. I’ll see it but I’m not to interested. Too much hollywood. I prefer The Tudors much more.

No, I haven’t read it (or any of her others) yet. I actually don’t read Tudor fiction that much any more, although I enjoyed Alison Weir’s “Innocent Traitor” earlier this year. I tend towards medieval historical fiction these days… probably because the historical mistakes don’t jump out at me as much since I don’t know the history quite as well (so far!). :)

THE OTHER BOLEYN GIRL is worth reading (so is the sequel, which covers Anne of Cleves, Jane Rochford and Catherine Howard) but Gregory does take a lot of liberties with the Tudors, and I certainly did not agree with all her interpretations of events and characters. I enjoyed it for the most part, but had to keep reminding myself it was fiction. I liked Innocent Traitor much better, quite honestly.

The book itself is a fun read, yes, some of it is very inaccurate, but if overlook is much less silly then “The Tudors” on Showtime.

I really like the way the author portrays all of her women characters in her books, the Boleyn Inheritence (sp?) is also a very good one told from the POV’s of Jane Rochford, Anne of Cleves and Katherine Howard.
